The only umpire camp on the Eastern Shore! Enjoy the sun, surf, shopping, and fun of learning and practicing your umpiring skills at the beautiful resort area of Cape Henlopen State Park on the white sands of the Atlantic Ocean in Lewes, Delaware. A special umpire's camp for the best training right before your season, the Mid-Atlantic Umpire Camp runs from Sunday through Thursday noon. Registration is at 3:00 pm on Sunday. Air conditioned accommodations for umpires will be in the historic Biden Center located near Ft. Miles in Cape Henlopen State Park. Conference rooms are conveniently located in the Biden Center which is located less than 5 minutes away from the playing fields and pristine beaches. Rehoboth outlet malls are only 10 minutes away. The Mid-Atlantic Field Hockey Umpire Camp will feature a National Umpire. The last two seasons featured Cindy Wilson as our clinician. Umpiring since 1971, Cindy received her National rating in 1981 and holds an active National rating. Cindy has umpired intercollegiate post season play for over 30 seasons, including the NCAA Division 3 National Championship. She has served as Mid-East Umpiring Chair and USFHA Umpiring Chair and coordinated clinics at the local, sectional and national level including Super-Camp and USFHA B Camp. Cindy is a certified USFHA Umpire Coach and a Level 3 Evaluator. In 2003, she was named an Honorary Umpire by the United States Field Hockey Association. Her article, "The Spirit of the Game," appeared in Hockey News in spring 2006. Cindy lives in Upstate NY and teaches high school physical education at Corcoran H.S. in the Syracuse School District. All umpires are welcome, beginners and experienced, who are interested in sectional level development. The daily schedule includes meals, lectures, discussions, umpiring evening games, reviewing game situations, beach time and free time for socializing. |
Bring a co-umpire and get a super start on the upcoming season. This camp is offered in conjunction with the Mid-Atlantic Field Hockey Camp. This is an umpire's camp and a great vacation at the beach. Umpires from Connecticut, Delaware, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Virginia, New Jersey, Maryland, Massachusetts, Maine, and all over the East will be attending.
